Prácheň Ensemble From Strakonice

The core of the ensemble is the bagpipe music with Czech bagpipes, complemented with violins, contrabass and clarinets. Songs from the Prácheň region as well as compositions of baroque masters are being interpreted by female and male singers performing in separate choirs or together. The highlight of the ensemble’s performance is a collective performance of all of its units: bagpipe music, singers and above all dancers who please spectators’ eyes with pair-dances from the Prácheň region.

In programmes of the ensemble, thematically oriented acts depicting traditions in the Prácheň region appear according to events (festival, concert, wedding etc.). Members of the ensemble perform before audience at home as well as abroad in charming folk costumes.
